Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon.
D.O.: Rapel Valley.
Terroir: The valley has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry days and cool nights during the ripening season, as a consequence of the fresh breezes that come from the Pacific Ocean. The Rapel Valley also has a cool influence from the Andes Mountain. These conditions allow a slow ripening of the grapes that help to obtain more expressive wines, with great balance and nice texture. Soils are granite and stony with great permeability which, together with the presence of silt-clay textures at different depths, help to get grapes of great color, concentration and elegance.
Vineyard: 20 years old vineyard, with drip irrigation system.
Harvest: The grapes were harvested between 25th March and 25th April, when their organoleptic qualities, aromas and tannins were at their best.
Vinification: Bunches were gently selected, destemmed, crushed and stored by gravity in stainless steel tanks to be cold-soaked in order to extract a greater amount of color and aromas, subsequently, the must was fermented at controlled temperatures (24-26ºC). Subsequently, the wine was aged for 6 months in contact with French oak.
Deep ruby red colour with violet touch. An expressive nose, rich in red and black fruits, especially berries such as raspberries, blueberries and blackcurrants which intermingle with toasted notes, vanilla, caramel and tobacco. This wine has a good structure, pleasant body with ripe tannins. Long, fruity and persistent in the finish.
Best served at between 16-18°C. This wine pairs well with ripe cheese, grilled meat and well-seasoned dishes.
